So far my success has been minimal... I got 1 arm of the Y done and it's mostly okay. It doesn't make it so heavy that the earbud pops out of my ear, but you can still see the cord. It took a lot longer than I wanted to spend though and I've only done about 20% of the total cord.

(That wanted me to solder the connectors back together and said, "most" people don't notice the quality degradation.)
