Clever hat title goes here.

So, I knitted this for a friend, and it's going out in the mail Monday. In a contrast to my usual organizational skills, I managed to remember to take the pictures, in the daytime, BEFORE putting the hat in the envelope.

Note to future self: a single hat fits very well in a 9" by 12" envelope for mailing, as long as it's not a 10" wide beret.

Pattern: None, really. Knitted top-down and increased 16 stitches every 3rd round.
Needle size: 5
Yarn: Jojoland Melody (the tan/brown color)
Twice Tweed (the cream color, does not stretch, like knitting with Sugar-N-Cream, but wool)
The purple and green/brown stripes are some Kool-Aid dyed Lion Fisherman's Wool.

I have about 3 other things on the needles, and maybe if it gets down below 100 this week I will have the motivation to knit on them.

This is very well done! Just out of curiosity, how hard are hats to make? I've been making scarves lately, so I was wondering the difficulty curve for hats.

I think hats are easy. But they do a lot better if you are practiced with knitting in the round either on circulars or double-points.

I like hats because you don't use 7 balls of yarn, so you can afford the nice stuff. And they allow you to practice a technique to see how annoying it would be for a larger project. And although there's some sizing to hats, pretty much there is a lot of flexibility.

I like the way you chose these colors. This way the "front view" when the hat is on someone's head is mostly normal, but there's a lot of interest on the top. You did a nice job with the stripes too.

You're getting better with the pictures!

I use circular needles, so it's good to know I'm getting a bit of practice with them. I thought about making a sweater, but from the looks of it, hats would be a much better project (I'm still a beginner :P)

Thank you for the info!

This is gorgeous! I would be sad that it's too early in the year to use it yet... :)
