Some recent projects
I haven't posted here before but since I'm trying to be a bit more active in the communities here during 3w4dw I thought that I'd finally post.
Here are a few things I've made recently...
a tiny envelope wallet for a bit of cash and my ID along with a cozy for my iPod touch...

and an art quilt as a gift for my mom...

6x6 inches

I really like your pouches. Those are neat.
Is the cozy fabric soft enough that you can just squeeze your iPod out of it or was there a hidden opening? I looked at the bigger picture but I can't quite tell how it works.
Nice quilt too. I especially enjoyed the dangly bead work. Does your mom like it?
What are you making next?

My Mom really loved the quilt, thank you.
At the moment I'm back to work on a mini rune art quilt project that I've been working on. I do one a week. Here is the set of photos on Flickr if you are curious...http://www.flickr.com/photos/tezzkatt/sets/72157626461488380/
I'm not sure what else I'm going to do next though. I'm still working on some ideas :)

I'm such a slow knitter that I'm afraid I'd get a new phone in a different shape before I finished the cozy, so I don't want to rely upon a tailored fit, but the snap+envelope type seems like it's too much trouble to answer a call.
Do you make a lot of these kinds of things such that it's not weird for me to ask for suggestions?

I made a lot of different things so it isn't that weird to ask me for suggestions but I do tend to wing it a lot. I don't knit though. I've tried but it hasn't worked out that well. I do crochet, I think that is why I find it so difficult to knit. Knitting just feels wrong to my hands after crocheting for so many years.
I prefer to sew these days though.

Your "Knitting... feels wrong" is how I am about sewing. ;-) I've been known to staple fabric pieces together--- staples because glue washes out. heh. So I'm totally with you about having a preference. The above comment is just if you were interested-but-discouraged you might not have known about the alternate method.
If someone sews something, I can usually replicate the shape of it through knitted stuff. Snaps are hard, but buttons are easy enough (especially the loop over kind). It's just that as soon as I add a closure, it's too much trouble to answer the phone.
Do you remember those coin purses where you squeeze it and it opens like a mouth? I've been considering using plastic "stays" (or "boning") to replicate that for a fabric (or knitted fabric) electronic-things holder but I can't quite figure out how to make it go. In early efforts, the stay goes straight through the fabric at the ends.

And oh my, your art quilts are lovely!
